Mindfulness is about paying attention to purpose in the present moment in a non-judgmental way. Being aware of our environment, bodily sensations, living in the now by being aware of ourselves in that moment including our thoughts, feelings/ behaviours, and their impact. Mindfulness is a mental focus of one’s own experience in the present moment, calmly acknowledging and accepting self, relaxing the body to listen and being aware of what the body is saying.
It is a practice which allows you to attend to what is happening to you and what you are doing in the space you are in now. A human ability to be present, aware of where you are, what you are doing and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is going on around you. Mindfulness can be cultivated through various techniques including sitting, walking, standing, moving, lying down etc.
Being mindful is having a focused awareness of self in all situations noting our minds when they ruminate or thoughts move to past or future situations, being mindful and aware to respond rather than react to situations or people and acknowledging the differences with our thoughts when living in the present compared to living in the past or future.
Living life consciously aware of how we relate to ourselves, others, and the environment, with kindness and an open heart without judgement, criticism or trying to control.
Living mindfully- the ability to monitor our emotions and their impact on self as well as others. Turning our awareness to learn, observe, physical sensations, emotions, mental processes. Connectivity between our thoughts, feelings, body, behavior, and life choices. Attending fully to ourselves without habitual filters of judgments, expectations, or preconceived ideas and programming. Witnessing our passing preconceptions without needing to create a story around them which brings clarity.
Having value and giving value to all living things as well as having gratitude, and appreciation for all. Acceptance, kindness, respect, appreciation, gratitude and love for the environment and mankind/animal kind/living kind.
